Curtains

We are delighted to help you achieve the look you are hoping for whether it's pinch pleat, pencil pleat or eyelet curtains; cottons, wool, linen, manmade, velvet, damask, brocade or plain weave.  We can use your measurements (see below) but if you unsure about measuring we are happy to measure for you, if you are within the surrounding area. 

All are made from quality fabrics and are truely bespoke: we have 5 colours of eyelets to choose from and different linings, including thermal, blackout and interlining. Pattern matching is standard within a pair and can be done throughout a room.

Having access to highly skilled seamstresses ensures you get the best at an affordable price and you can have matching and coordinating bespoke lampshades, tie backs, bed spreads, bed runners and cushions too.  We are also happy to provide alterations, so if you have curtains you want to put at another window we can shorten them for you or add in a coordinating border to make them longer.

Taking your measurements

Taking your measurements

Width: This is the width of your finished curtains.

Drop (Length): If you have a curtain pole: measure from the bottom edge of the pole to the length of the finished curtain.

If you have a track: measure from the top edge of the track to the length of the finished curtain.

Measuring the track or pole width

Measure the width of the track or pole and not the width of the window.

1 Tracks

Measure end to end. If the track overlaps then measure end to end (A) and measure the overlap (B) and then add the two values together (A+B).

2 Poles

Measure the distance between the decorative ends (finials).

Measuring the length depends on whether the curtains are hung using a track or a pole:

  • if you have a curtain pole: measure from the bottom edge of the pole to the length of your finished curtain
  • if you have a track: measure from the top of the track to the length of your finished curtain

If you are having eyelet curtains made to order you will also need to provide the depth of your pole, we will make necessary adjustments to the finished length to allow for the additional heading height of eyelet curtains. This will be from the top of your pole (ie where the ring would sit) to your required length.

The finished drop (length) given on readymade eyelet curtains are measured from the top of the fabric to the bottom edge. You will therefore need to take this into consideration when you are measuring for readymade eyelet curtains: take your measurements from the top of your pole (ie where the ring would sit) to your required length and add 3cm. You can then use your measurements to decide on the size of readymade curtains you need:
